Here's a list of some phone recordings, which can be called
directly.  I don't know if they are toll-free for sure, unless 
you live in Bettendorf, Iowa - USA.

All numbers begin with:  1-319-332-99xx
where xx is:
##:       Recording
-------------------------------------
86:   "A coin deposit is required..."
88:   "All circuits busy now"
89:   "Not necessary to dial 1 before dialing this number"

The 332-9986 phone number was especially fun for me, when I would
leave phone messages at work.  I had one female engineer trying all
of the phones on the floor.  She was thoroughly confused why the
phone company thought she was calling from a pay-phone :-) !!
